Park for free directly in front of the building, arrive and set up with our on-site engineer, record your episode, and we download the raw files and send them to you. Longer sessions are charged at the same hourly rate.
What equipment and support is included?
Main Office supplies 2 RODE microphones with stands, an on-site engineer and the acoustically optimised studio in every booking. The engineer handles setup and recording so you can focus on the conversation. You do not need to bring any equipment, though you are welcome to bring branded items such as mugs or signage for the set.
Can I record video as well as audio?
Yes. The Main Office Podcast Recording Studio + Video option adds video recording to the same studio for $160 per hour plus GST, compared with $100 per hour plus GST for audio only. It suits 1 to 4 people and carries the same two-hour minimum. You receive the raw video and audio files after the session to edit or publish as you choose.
Is there a minimum booking time?
Yes, the Main Office podcast studio has a two-hour minimum for both the audio-only and video options. Two hours covers setup, a level check with the engineer and the recording itself. You can book longer blocks in one-hour steps through the portal, up to 8 hours in a day, if you plan to record several episodes in one sitting.
Can I use the studio after hours or on weekends?
Standard Main Office studio hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, matching reception hours. After-hours use is possible but needs pre-approval and a deposit before the booking is confirmed. Call 1800 841 548 or note your preferred time when you enquire, and the team will confirm whether the slot can be arranged.
Do you edit the podcast for me?
No. Main Office supplies the studio, the equipment and an engineer for the recording, then downloads the raw files and sends them to you after your session. Post-production editing, mixing and publishing are not included in the $100 or $160 hourly rate. If you need an editor, ask the team and they can point you in the right direction.
